Pachisi Reforged FAQ
Is Pachisi Reforged the same as Pachisi or Ludo?
No. Pachisi Reforged is inspired by the classic game of Pachisi. Pachisi Reforged has its own rules and mechanics that are completely unique from traditional Pachisi and Ludo-style games. It is designed to be much more strategic and tactical, with more player choice, planning, and control than most Ludo-style games on the market.
Is it the same as Ludo or Parcheesi?
No. They are related games, but their rules are not interchangeable. Pachisi Reforged gives players much more autonomy than traditional Ludo or Parcheesi. It is designed to be more skill-based and strategic, while Ludo and Parcheesi are generally more linear and luck-driven.
How many pieces does each player have?
Five: four Guards and one Noble. Guards can form groups and blockades. The Noble moves independently and follows different capture rules.
Can I move backward?
Yes. Choose Forward or Backward each turn. Every move that turn uses the selected direction.
Does the Noble use the Guard Roll Store?
No. Guards use stored rolls. The Noble has its own roll values from 1 through 8.
What is an Exit Credit?
Exit Credits let Guards leave the Yard. Players start with three, and each Guard entry costs one.
What happens when the Noble is captured?
Capturing a Noble normally requires at least two opposing Guards. A Guard moving onto or over its owner’s entering tile can also capture an opposing Noble alone. The Noble and the owner's Guards outside Home and the Home path return to the Yard. Stored rolls and Exit Credits are cleared, then the player receives two Exit Credits. Guards already in Home or the Home path remain safe.
What happens when a Guard is captured?
The Guard returns to the Yard, loses its current progression, and needs another Exit Credit to re-enter.
How long are the game modes?
Journey lasts up to 30 minutes. Brawl lasts 10 minutes.
What decides the winner?
Players are ranked by Total Score. In Journey, completing all five pieces can award a completion bonus but does not automatically guarantee first place. Ties are decided by turn order.
