Opening Sequence and Turn Order
All four players roll at the same time before the game begins. Rolling doubles locks in your turn position.
Determining Turn Order
Before normal turns begin, all four players roll automatically at the same time. This is the opening roll. Each player keeps rolling pairs of dice until three players have rolled doubles.
The first player to roll doubles takes the 1st turn position, the second takes the 2nd, and the third takes the 3rd. The remaining player is placed 4th automatically. This turn order is used for the rest of the game.
Store Opening Rolls
Each time you roll during the opening sequence without getting doubles, there is a chance one of your two dice gets saved to your roll store. Which die gets saved is random — it is a 50/50 pick between the two. Whether anything gets saved at all depends on how full your roll store already is.
The fuller your roll store, the lower the chance. If your store already has six or more rolls, nothing is saved. Because this is random, two players who both spend the same number of rounds in the opening sequence can end up with very different amounts saved.
| Roll store size | Chance to save one opening die |
|---|---|
| 0 | 60% |
| 1 | 55% |
| 2 | 50% |
| 3 | 45% |
| 4 | 40% |
| 5 | 35% |
| 6 or more | 0% |
